Guarantee/Warranties:
New items come with a standard manufacturers 12 or 24 month warranty. This does not apply to "consumables" such as terminals etc. The Products of “Engine Room Marine Parts”, when properly installed are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. Re-manufactured units are warranted for 6 months and new units for 1 year from the date of sale to the end user. Our warranty covers the replacement of defective “Engine Room Marine Parts” units only. This warranty extends to the application under normal use and does not apply to deliberate abuse, broken drive gears, submersions and/or damaged housings. Improper installation, careless handling, burnt fields/armatures, tampering and/or dismantling of units will render this warranty null and void. Our warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective units only. Labour or any other expenses are not covered. Defective units must be returned, within the warranty period, to our facility for inspection and warranty consideration. Defective units returned for warranty MUST have a tag attached with a clear explanation of the malfunction. No disassembled unit will be considered for warranty. The warranty is expressly in lieu of all other obligations or liability. “Engine Room Marine Parts” neither assumes nor authorises any other person or company to assume for it any other liability in connection with the sale of its products or merchandise. THE FOLLOWING IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. SHIPPING DAMAGE: Each unit is individually boxed and secured with packaging material to protect it. We take care to insure our product will survive the rigours of the freight trip to you. However, freight companies have been known to drop or throw packages and damage can occur. When you receive your package, please inspect it for any signs of external box damage. Any broken parts need to be reported to the freight carrier as shipping damage is not covered under warranty. MODIFICATION OR DISASSEMBLY: Any unit that has been modified or disassembled or has wires cut is not covered under warranty. DRIVE END HOUSINGS: This type of failure is always blamed on a bad casting. In fact, it is caused when a starter, spinning at high speed, comes to an abrupt stop. This can occur when an engine backfires or momentarily releasing the start switch and re-engaging the starter before it has spun down. It may also happen when a cylinder suffers a water hydraulic lock. In either case, the damage is not due to a defective unit and is not covered under warranty. SUBMERSIONS: All starters and alternators are treated for the harsh marine environment. However, submerging them will cause the unit to fail and is not covered under warranty. Power trim/tilt units mounted in the mid-section of an outboard motor are “splash” rated. However, if the motor has been submerged deeper than 250mm for an extended period of time water may leak into the motor. Damage caused by water intrusion due to submersion is not covered under warranty.

Faulty Goods:
Faulty goods, where the fault is due to manufacturing defect, will be exchanged or refunded at our discretion where possible within the first 30 days of purchase. After that time and for the remainder of the warranty period, faulty goods will be repaired and returned as quickly as possible free of charge. Persistently faulty goods may be exchanged or refunded at our discretion. Faults due to misuse are not covered by any warranty.

Damaged Goods:
Damaged goods must be reported to "Engine Room Marine Parts" within 48 hours of purchase/delivery of the goods.

Cancellation Procedure + Returns Policy
All goods and services are sold in accordance with The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (SI 2000 No.2334). This regulation ensures that the consumer is given clear information about the goods and services the supplier is offering, is provided with an order confirmation via email and has a "cooling off" period of 14 working days during which time the consumer may cancel the contract by notifying the supplier of their request to cancel either in writing or by email. Please note that cancellation of contracts for the purchase of goods cannot be accepted where the item has been unsealed and/or fitted to an engine. Goods ordered specifically to meet consumers requirements are exempt from these regulations. The consumer will also be responsible for the cost of returning any goods to us. Goods being returned from outside the UK must be shipped entirely at the expense of the customer and by their own means. "Engine Room Marine Parts" strongly recommend that if returning goods by their own means, customers use an insured courier service as "Engine Room Marine Parts" will not be responsible for the goods until they have been checked and signed for. Furthermore, the consumer is under a duty to restore goods to us and to maintain them in the condition in which they were supplied by us. If goods are damaged or not saleable as new, "Engine Room Marine Parts" reserves the right to seek recompense accordingly. A 25% restocking fee will apply in all cases where the customer has incorrectly ordered the wrong goods.
